For homeowners who’ve been craving more control over hydro expenses, you’ve been heard. If you’re a homeowner who currently pays Time-of-Use (TOC) electricity prices you can now switch to Tiered prices (if you’d prefer it). Both models have merit. And having the choice means you can now select the pricing model that aligns best with your energy use habits at home.

Time-of-Use Pricing

If you pay Time-of-Use pricing, you pay for electricity based on the time of day you use it. Certain times of the day have higher prices because demand is higher, like noon-5:00PM. Other times of the day have lower prices because demand is lower, like 7:00 PM-7:00 AM.

Tiered Pricing

If you pay via Tiered Pricing, the price of electricity doesn’t change based on the time you use electricity, it changes based on how much you use per month. So you can pay a lower price up to a certain tier. When you go over that tier, a higher price applies.
